In 2009, to mark its 100th anniversary, L’Oréal launched 100 “citizen projects” around the world. In Canada, the Talent Project was created with the aim of encouraging high school students to stay in school.
Now in its fifth edition and in partnership with Espace GO Theater, the Talent Project reaches out to high school students with learning difficulties and who are at high risk of dropping out. The goal is to encourage these students to stay in school by involving them in an exciting and rewarding after-school theatre project.
The project enables the students to meet with positive role models; to acquire skills that will help them gain confidence as well as produce a play in which they are the main "actors". It allows them to express their realities as adolescents from diverse cultural backgrounds in the form of a multimedia play which utilizes theatre, singing, dancing, music, videos and projections.
Promoting education helps combat ignorance, facilitate the transfer of knowledge and give as many people as possible access to learning. LOréal Canada’s objective is to primarily raise awareness and promote the value of diversity and cultural exchanges.
Talent Project is all that…and more!
