Adding Value to Generational Differences
In 2006, L’Oréal Canada initiated an innovative training program focused on intergenerational links, based on the fact that three different generations were working together at the company. The goal: to undermine prejudices and taboos by engaging in open dialog between generations and creating value, based on better understanding. As a consequence, L’Oréal Canada was ranked as one of the Top 100 Diversity Employers in 2010.
In 2002, L’Oréal Canada launched the L’Oréal Kids day care center which greeted 36 children of L’Oréal employees. An expansion in 2010 enabled the L’Oréal daycare to welcome 31 new children, bringing the total number up to 67, and providing even more employees with a privileged environment in their own workplace to accompany their kids through the first steps of their childhood.
