The German subsidiary of the L’Oréal group has won the European Excellence Awards in HR in the Category Compensation & Benefits / Incentives. The European prize honors best practices in HR and is donated by the Human Resources Manager Magazine and L&E Global (an alliance of employers’ counsel worldwide). The ceremony took place in Berlin on 22nd of March.
“L’Oréal Deutschland wanted to find a way to better visualize and manage their company rewards programs. By ensuring that every employee has a sound understanding of their available benefits and rewards – in a way which is easy to access and engage with – L’Oréal would empower their employees and give even more value to their rewards program. We were able to achieve this through a special technology developed by the Swedish company Benify”, says Martina Heim, Rewards Manager at L’Oréal Germany.
Since 2016 L’Oréal Deutschland offers an easy to use online “MyHR Rewards Portal” where every employee has a deep insight in its payroll including an overview about rewards and benefits offered by the group in Germany. The portal also offers the opportunity to contact the employees directly by a monthly e-mail newsletter. “Thanks to the online portal the HR and reward policy of the group has become more transparent and every employee has a clear view on the different elements of her/his remuneration, on the job mapping level and where she/he is positioned on the market according to Mercer ”, states Martina Heim.

Benify started in 2004 with the idea that it should be easy for their clients to make it great at work. They had the idea that technology can make compensation and benefits easy, accessible and efficient. Benify had to reimagine everything from pricing, to how technology interacts with the H in HR. They developed a technology frame to create portals for their clients. All the features in the portal are tailor-made in a client-relationship. Benify is one of Sweden’s fastest growing companies with 300 employees in eight global offices across Europe.
